The Denver Nuggets have lost their superstar in Carmelo Anthony to the New York Knicks. The Denver Post reported last night that Anthony was traded to the New York Knicks in a huge deal. Denver will send Carmelo Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter, and Renaldo Balkman to the New York Knicks. The Nuggets get Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, Wilson Chandler, New York's 2014 first-round draft pick, Golden State's 2012 second-round pick and 2013 second-round pick along with $3 million in cash. "I'm glad it’s over," Nuggets coach George Karl said. George Karl thinks that it is an opportunity to reinvent. The Nuggets have had mild success over the last few years but their offense has been centered on Carmelo Anthony. They are going to need to develop young players and establish teamwork to be successful. Carmelo has wanted to be traded to New York because he thinks he will win a championship there. Minnesota has also got into this big deal. The Minnesota Timberwolves will get Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry from the New York Knicks. The Knicks will get Corey Brewer, who is an explosive guard that is known for his defense. The Denver Nuggets picked Carmelo Anthony third overall in the 2003 NBA draft. He averaged 24.8 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game with his seven seasons as a Nugget. Goodbye Denver, Hello New York.
Oh Paul thank you so much for telling the world this. Before I read this blog, I thought that Carmelo was still a nugget. So thank you so much for telling me who he was traded for and who the Nuggets received in this trade. It was very helpful in understanding this situation the NBA is now in. Thank you.
